Has anyone watched the new season of Futurama?

Loved it's original run, but the first revival on Comedy Central sucked. I'm guessing this new season is just as bad?

They brought it back in like 2007 I think and made 4 "movies" that were really just 4 episodes put together and then had some more seasons on comedy central. The first movie was alright, but the rest of them kinda sucked. Aside from that, I couldn't even tell you one episode from the revival seasons aside from the finale which was OK

I meant the newest reboot. Just read up on it now. I watched the shit out of the OG run and the movies. The 2010 reboot was mediocre. I also don’t really remember anything but the finale

I think they finally paid him enough to be in it. The last revival sucked when they added topical shit in it. "Let's have an episode about Susan Boyle. That will surely age well."

Just watched it and it was terrible. Just the same "lol, imagine a show getting cancelled a bunch of times and then brought back after 10 years" 'joke' for half an hour

I am shocked to hear a cartoon isn't as good as when you were younger. When was the original run? I remember watching it with younger siblings. It was fine for 14 year olds I guess? Move on. It's okay

If Bender's not in it, they can get bent. He was the only funny character on the show. A real ass robot dude that could have fit right in with the rest of the insult comics here on Owen if he were literally a real ass dude.

I can still watch South Park seasons 1-10 or whatever and get a laugh. First run of Futurama is lighthearted and fun though the two revivals after that were horrendous. I went back and watched the entire show a year ago and it does not really hold up well unless you are into aged pop culture references with zero edge or humor to them.

For example, they did an entire episode about the ugly singer Susan Boyle...but she was Susan Boil.....as in a boil or wart in someone's body. Get it? And that was the joke for 30 minutes. It was like an episode written by Chip or the manatee balls from Family Guy (South Park). Who even finds stuff like that funny?

The original run was so long ago that Billy West cannot do the voices properly anymore. They must be running his voice through some filters or software to try to clean it up. But even then, every single character he voices sounds like they have throat cancer.

I'm going to wait for the whole season, then watch it at my own leisure. People on reddit said the first episode was very good, very self referential. I thought, "Ah, that rare self referential Futurama episode. Can't miss that".

The final season was so bad. It felt like the difference between Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. All the elements were there, except the originality

Someone posted a recent Simpsons clip and Mr Burns sounded like his actual age. That was kinda depressing.

Funnily enough, they didn't change their offer and pay him more. He just agreed to it after a while and said some dumb shit like "I didn't get more money but I can tell people in the industry respect me more now".
