Thunberg, 20, posted a photo on Friday to her 14.6 million Instagram followers showing her and three allies holding signs in favor of Palestinians in Gaza, including "I stand with Gaza" and "This Jew stands with Palestine." Another sign reads, "Climate justice now!"
Social media users tried to make sense of the association between the Middle East war and climate change as advocated by Thunberg, who was arrested Tuesday in London for protesting the Energy Intelligence Forum, and her companions.
"In the caption accompanying her Instagram post she claims she is 'striking' despite being on a permanent strike and not appearing to have ever had a job in the name of climate change," said one X user. "And why is she only posing with trans women? All women deserve to be heard."
Thunberg's post also garnered praise, including from pro-Palestinian supporters and absolute retards.
"So happy to see Greta Thunberg finally be in solidarity with Palestine & its liberation," wrote a person who cares about a 12 year old's opinion on X. "Two years ago, she took a neutral stance but we can always learn & grow. Environmentalism cannot coexist with genocide, apartheid & settler colonialism. I don't know what that means, but it can't!"
