Road warrior: potential love interest character dies suddenly with an arrow thru the chest. It wasnt cinematic. She dies and then they move on.

Fury road: potential love interest character dies saving them all with dramatic sad music playing.

It just has lots of gay cliche things like that. Whereas road warrior is like a real postapocalyptic world. See the rape scene as a great example. I like rape scene.
