As tedious and frustrating as it is scrolling through the endless reservoir of self-righteous ignorance and mental illness just to leave a funny comment under one of Pig's tweets, for my money Reddit is far worse. I've seen shit on Reddit after just 5 minutes of screwing around that has frankly ruined entire weekends for me. That r/GoneWildTrans is something else man. You don't just find shit like that on Twitter by accident.

Pig wallows in some pretty gnarly mud puddles, folks. This trans shit is just... god almighty. I feel like Tommy Lee Jones in his opening monologue for No Country For Old Men. Can you expand? I get it, it's a horror show over there but I actually get nervous before I start searching for new subreddits to post in. I know there's a very, very good chance I'm going to see something that will not just make me angry, but physically ill on top of it.

i've used reddit (after 9gag) to laugh at retarded shit as i seldom went to those types of forums
my dad uses instagram randomly when he asks my brothers if we've seen the approved right-view of gay videos that have already been on tiktok and other gay shit

Most of the exposure we get to reddit is the worst of it, like the political cesspools, but I would say that like half of reddit is just people discussing interesting things casually.

Twitter is 100% toxic, just me me me look at me making this issue about myself. Even the conservative side of twitter that I would tend to agree with is completely toxic and steeped with attention whore faggotry.

I check in on a few twitters users based on browser favorites, not owning an account. One thing I notice is even the people I really like, if they are obsessive posters, their baseline personality weaves into/is influenced by their twitter persona/presentation more and more rather than twitter being a representation of their personality/humor/interests. It began as natural, carefree fun and honest interactions but as their personality and its flaws/repetitive features is fleshed out, as grudges and beefs pile up, as and friendship/allegiances grow moldy and strained (espeically when you can tell they don't really like each other but pretend to for self interest due to having the tribal support) it becomes more like rubbernecking a shitshow of the public self destruction of an addict

yeah I despise reddit and refused to ever make an account there (until I found the sub after the dani bite thing went viral) despite knowing about it since it first went up. digg.com had the same le Updoot system for which topics reached the top, and even earlier so did Fark.com, and they all became this massive den of virtue signaling faggotry for doots. slashdot.org was a big site with that format but the userbase was autistic enough that it didn't get too overwhelmed with gayness. (aside: ycombinator news is the current version of that that's still good due to the autistic male userbase.) That said, the smaller practical places of reddit are still useful and provide a steadily decent amount of problem solvers via googling

twitter seems to fuck with peoples lives and minds on a level beyond anything else. I have seen people seriously fuck themselves up there more than anywhere else i think

I don't even disagree with that. But I feel like Reddit is more insular in a way because the posts are mostly confined within their respective subreddits, and the mentally ill teenagers in those communities aren't even exposed to the rest of the platform at large. Twitter may be more annoying in general, but bizarre cultures and ideologies fester in some of these subreddits in a way they don't on Twitter.

And yeah, mods are gay so on and so forth, but if you get one of these subs where the mods are AWOL or insane themselves, it just always turns into a chics with dicks free for all.

I see what you guys are saying. The tranny shit just tips the scales for me.
