Do you know anyone who watches it? It's only "popular" because the media claims it is popular. I barely know anyone in my social circle who watched Game of Thrones which is supposedly the most popular television show of all time. I have never heard anyone bring this show up in conversation once nor refer to it indirectly like "that show where celebrities eat hot food".
This is like 1984 where the government and media simply call something popular to encourage people to watch it so that they can be part of the mainstream culture and not miss out on the next big thing.
