Do you think deep down inside Patrick realizes his books are complete dogshit?

This is where, as with so many other parts of his personality and life, Pussy Bitch Pat begins to resemble Chris Chan.

Chris Chan seemed oblivious to the fact that his OC Sonichu were readily obvious to others as nothing more than cheap knock offs of existing characters, and he also seemed to genuinely think that his hand drawn, plot less comics were of such high quality that he didn't bat an eye when trolls masqueraded as game manufacturers and others, interested in his intellectual property. To him, it was matter of course, and a logical progression.

PBP really is Chris Chan 2.0. He's oblivious to his transparently unoriginal, low effort, disposable shit books, and based upon his professed tastes in movies and music, I don't think that he knows what constitutes quality. He thinks that every author shits out a book in a mere matter of weeks, as opposed to months and years of outlines, drafts, and revisions. He would never put in that kind of work into anything.

I'd be surprised if he's ever read the final draft of one of his own books.

Pat the Fat admits to never reading a book more than once. Usually, authors end up reading their book over and over again during the rewriting/editing phases. Therefore, he seems to be admitting that he skipped that entire process, and I feel inclined to believe him, especially considering the embarrassing ecliptic/eclectic debacle.

tl;dr he's fat, doesn't read, doesn't understand many things

He has a dyslexic editor to do that for him, child.

Chris Chan is unironically better than Pat when it comes to his art, and I'm not just saying that to make fun of Pat.

Chris's work is creative -- the drawings just suck. He has a lot of imaginative concepts in his comic books, whereas Pat has nothing.

It could be that the Dunning-Kruger effect prevents him from realizing how shitty his novels are. He doesn't know what he doesn't know, and he's incapable of distinguishing good writing from bad writing. We've seen the Dunning-Kruger effect when he's arguing with actual experts in a particular field on Twitter by just regurgitating basic bitch NPC talking points.

But he definitely knows that he's not a success as an author by any measure. The status signaling and self-aggrandizing can fool a handful of cat moms on Twitter, but he can't fool himself. And the fact that he knows he's a fraud is one of the reasons why never shows any gratitude towards his followers; he doesn't respect them, because they are gullible idiots.

I suspect that he's probably a cynical asshole who thinks everything is bullshit, and you just have to be a better bullshitter than the next guy to become successful. We heard some of that when he was talking about appealing the quash ruling until Quasi runs out of money. He obviously doesn't respect the legal profession based on that comment. He probably has similar feelings towards writing, i.e. he thinks success is all about luck and connections.

Pat's got a similar thing to Chris Chan, in that he can't completely tell the difference between his imagination and reality. That Star Wars kid video of him flailing a stick around in Hawaii? He did a couple of mall karate classes twenty years ago, that means he's a trained martial artist, and therefore he looks like an expert in that video. He imagines himself fit, and therefore anyone saying he isn't is a liar. His standup? He imagines the crowd loved it, therefore he's an expert and able to lecture lesser talents like Roseanne Barr.

Same with the lolsuit; he imagines he's won, and so he has. He imagines he doesn't have to pay his enemies for the costs they've incurred due to his antics, so he doesn't.

Hopefully he can imagine himself warm and dry, when Quasi takes what he's owed and Pat's living in a cardboard box under a bridge.

Chris Chan is also far more charming and likable than Pat, and he's definitely far, far more famous. Not everyone knows every wrinkle in the Chris Chan saga (nor should they), but they have definitely, at the very least, HEARD of him.

Pat? He's more obscure than Nana, Opie, Norton, Joe, and possibly even Fred from Brooklyn. Hell, Permanently Suspended was better written and definitely sold better than any LGBTQ Sci fi Fat Pat ever shat.

I don’t think this is true because we heard him talk to Josiah about the case not going well and how it looked like he was going to owe Quaso the money. He’s just a big fat liar in public.

He said there was a risk that he might losel and also said repeatedly that he wasn't going to pay Quasi a penny.

If I'm wrong, then we need another explanation for his clumsy martial arts posts.

He said he wasn’t going to pay but that sounded to me more like a fuck you to Quaso than him not believing it was happening.

I really don't see how someone could truly think they are good at something they have no expertise in or passion for. Pat does not read books and has no real interest in them. He likes thoughtless special effects movies and nostalgia crap and thinks this grants him a talent for narratives.

He doesn't want to write good books, he wants fame and thought this would be the easiest path. It's the same reason he tried comedy. It's the same reason they ALL try comedy on r/standupshots. The world is full of mediocre people who think they deserve fame and fortune.

They assume their natural charisma and talent for everything in life shines through. They're narcissist faggots.

This is one of the most detestable things about Rick in my opinion. As a dude who dabbles in a bit of da writing I understand that it's a fawkin grind. Even if you work a shit job 8 hours a day, come home, and write another eight hours, if you're not getting paid, it's a hobby. Your family/friends support you in their own way. But they also worry that you're gonna be waiting tables for the rest of your life. Wonderful as your dreams may be, they are just that, dreams. People that love you won't believe in you. You're not even sure you believe in yourself half the time. You deal with constant doubt, cynicism, and rejection. Every year that goes by where you aren't famous is another year you wished you stayed in school and got a real job.

Think of all the asshole musicians and podcasters and stand up comics you know that never or will never make a dime off their content. I think Rick happened to be at the right place at the right time. He was peddling identity politics, pandering, faux nerd sci-fi horseshit at a time when that shit was hot. Traditional book deals aren't handed out like they used to be, publishers want something safe that they can bank into a trilogy/franchise/etc. Fat ticked all the boxes. I know nothing of sci-fi novels, but I know good writing. Rick's writing is soulless, hollow, and a relic of what I would certainly hope is looked back on as a weak point in the genre's history. Nobody is gonna remember Firstname Lastname's heroic quest to vanquish Fonald Plump.

Rick hit the lottery as a creative and completely squandered it. He was handed an opportunity many of us bust our asses our entire lives to get and just shat all over it. That's what happens when you can't hack it at Target for 6 hours and luck your way into a book deal.
