Do we live in a failed state now?

I’ll try to avoid a giant Joe manifesto so here’s some concise points

Shut down the country because of a mild virus, forced people to take an untested vaccine against their will and moved the power of the state against those who didn’t want it

Normal hard working families will soon have to choose which bills not to pay to be able to afford food because of the cost of living crisis. Not poverty welfare cases. Average salary house holds.

Anyone under age 30 will be locked out of home ownership for ever. Will be forced into predatory rental markets.

Countries official debt is 30 trillion, total debt with unsecured liabilities like social security is 200 trillion. 1 trillion seconds is 33,000 years for a sense of scale. It’s impossible to comprehend the size of the Ponzi scheme we sit on. Yet we continue to raise the ceiling every year and announce new trillion dollar budgets every other month which all goes to crony corrupt contracts.

Changing the definition of things like vaccine and recession and slandering anyone for noticing.

Fbi and other government agencies being weaponised to shut down political dissent and crush political rivals.

Using tens of billions (100s of billions soon) of our money to fund proxy wars across the globe that we instigate.

Political corruption at third world tinpot dictator levels. Biden, Hunter, Pelosi etc (though it’s across the board for both parties)

General societal collapse. No moral standards. No religion. The new religion is marvel soy boys who worship “the science” they don’t understand and get angry when you say NASA (never a straight answer) are liars. For example, I told someone the images they post are 100% photoshopped, the raw data is vague smokey grey blobs and he had an aneurysm and googled it and said it’s just building images from data collected, he didn’t understand it but was mad they were being questioned. Question vaccines and people will practically have a mental breakdown they’re so offended though again understand nothing about them.

Is it the end times brothermen?

End times might be dramatic. It’s bad but you gotta think in terms of global history. Most of human history has been pretty much terrible but people kept going. Despite the awful things happening now, we’ll keep moving forward because maybe something good will come.

Unless the nukes start flying or an actually really deadly plague comes, this will just be a couple decades of shit until someone invents the next big thing

I read an opinion piece in the WSJ on that trump document stuff and basically it sounds like theres an act that allows a president to have taken those documents, it just needs to be properly secured. FBI could have used more less intrusive means which they probably woukd have done for any other president but because its trump they wanted to sensationalize it.

Edit: the link is paywalled, but googling the title of the article will take you to the full thing

Everyone’s standard of living will deteriorate and be increasingly intolerable.

There will also be acute food shortages, energy shortages. We saw how retards acted to media driven fake shortages, imagine when they’re real? It’s going to be the purge in under a day.

A government should be able to provide a decent quality of life for the average citizen, not through socialism, but through public policy that keeps the average person's life from being horrendous. I'm not for socializing things, but the fact that people are demanding socialized health care because about 60% of people live paycheck to paycheck and the government does nothing to improve that means we already live in a figurative neo-feudalism where a pleb has to beg for donations over a medical issue they have no control over, while the rich and faux rich flaunt on social media. More immigrants than ever flood across the border to keep wages down and to antagonize the racially (crime statistic) aware.

By every metric, the United States shouldn't improve, it should be destroyed/balkanized. The amount of times you get taxed on your income while getting nothing but career politicians who earn millions outside of their government salary making empty threats about what will happen if they don't get elected the tenth time is so retarded.

Wages garnished for Medicare, income tax, property tax, vehicle excise tax, sales tax...

I'm a complete moron though, so whatever.

I work in renewable energies. Dont think Solar/Wind/etc are here to help anytime soon. We run off about just as much energy off the grid that we can produce. And the Inverters/Transformers are CONSTANTLY breaking down. Renewable energy has a loooooong way to go to even sustain a small city. All this talk about “coal plants being gone by 2035” is bullshit unless we have an electrical renaissance.

It’ll happen too slowly for it to be cinematic like that.

Over the past fifty years or so, we’ve seen housing, healthcare, retirement and education be taken from average Americans. Nobody did anything about and the only advice was, “Stop buying coffee and avocado toast.”

I wouldn’t be shocked if I was standing in a bread line and heard someone say, “Well maybe you’d shouldn’t buy all those bug protein packs.”

What the fuck is avocado toast? Is the avocado like, cut up ON the toast? Or is it baked right into the bread?

if you look at economies which retained the status quo of saving money and improving their childrens lives -giving them the same cheap opportunities of education and housing and affordable healthcare you’ll see how viciously the boomers have gang raped the economy at the expense of all future generations.

What’s worse is you’ve got boomers who had so many advantages and all with NOTHING planned for retirement outside of Social Security. I talked to some of my boomer relatives recently and it’s like they had no idea SS wouldn’t be enough and didn’t plan. I’m in my mid 30s and have stocks, a pension, and a 401k yet people in their 60s are no realizing “oh shit!” When they’ve heard for years SS isn’t gonna be much and costs are going up

Btw some of the pension schemes that were available to them are obscene. I’m talking final salary options. For private careers, not just the usual government state gravy train.

That people didn’t take advantage of that stuff, plus the 800% house price rises and everything else - and will retire with credit card debt and relying on social security - is a damning indictment on just how retarded and greedy they are. I mean for fucks sake - they could actually make money with savings accounts!

People misunderstood my rants, I’m not saying you should be a millionaire because you were a boomer, I’m saying you had the game set to very easy mode.

I have the same planning you do and know for a fact social security will collapse long before I’m old enough, but I also don’t believe my own private provisions will survive that long anyway. The future is very much a bleak dystopian nightmare.

Joe Cumia is the best example. A man who felt he could retire at 40 and is just now feeling the squeeze

I learned everything about retirement / investing / etc in my 20s when I was a casino bartender in Atlantic City. This guy - late 50s / early 60s would come in to my bar (the video poker bar) and just play video poker all night and drink. He really just wanted to get out and talk to people and didn’t pay attention to the gambling.

He was retired with a 401k, pension, house paid off, and his dividends from his years of investing paid all his monthly bills (electric, cable, etc) and was just bored with money. He would hit the royal flush and tip the person just giving him money and other employees, to him he was set. What did he do his whole life? He worked for coke as a driver - so he had a route and stocked shelves - not a high level position - but he was smart, spent wisely and invested over time.

It drives me nuts how they don’t make investing / personal finance / etc classes mandatory in school but instead what black history and other nonsense required that won’t help you in life. Then again if kids learned about finance they wouldn’t take out huge loans for useless college degrees.

Yeah I agree completely, I’d also add the same basic education should also cover health. Just as these people are financially illiterate, they are health illiterate. They rely on pills and medicine and have no idea about diet, stress and exercise.

People should practice the financial restraint you mentioned, and they also should eat better and be physically capable.

I’m a doomer and a crazy person but I try to stick to very simple fundamentals. Save what I can, don’t buy things I don’t need, eat things which grow out of the earth or come from an animal. I do 50 push ups, 50 sit ups and other weights or pull ups each day before work, I make sure I jog and run often enough to maintain the ability to run a 10 minute mile.

I work a computer IT job, so I also make sure I keep busy with weekend projects where I build up the skill set and invest in the tools to do basic carpentry and things like that.

You have to be the change you seek. It doesn’t matter if someone is woke and based and a Bitcoin millionaire if they’re a diabetic fat slob who can’t do a push up. I know a successful programmer who’s very wealthy for our age (mid 30s) but he couldn’t even carry his girlfriend on his shoulders at a concert we went to. Don’t be that guy. He’s being beaten to death when the purge starts on day one.

I saw on the news yesterday about the whole Biden student debt “forgiveness” a piece on some student who was crying about college debt and how this will help her. Of course the news piece didn’t mention what degree she had or what she did for work because she (like many) go to college and spend big money on useless degree that lead to low paying jobs.

I agree there’s too many retards taking out loans for stupid degrees, but I would add they’re brainwashed from birth to believe they have to do it, that’s all schools do now.

I also think it’s wrong any degree, even stupid ones cost what they do and they are funded by unforgivable debt.

I’d rather be angry at the fucked up system that vampires the futures of children than at the misguided children.

Boomers got their education for reasonable prices, why shouldn’t anyone else?
