Pat spent 9 months and and thousands of dollars to win a bill for $24k additional in debt.
The last one only soaked him for $5k over 11 months for a job that just needed a round of drinks; Brinton's soaked him for$120k over 9 months, plus another $5k once his failed Google subpoena pays out.

Shout out to Minc Law, giving a good name to lawyers everywhere.

EDIT: Quasi's main lawyer - not El Tigre - charges $550 an hour, and he and his team knocked Pat on his ass for about $5k. Everything after that is just Pat refusing to be told, and having to be told again, and slower. What in the actual fuck did Brinton spend $120k on? Like, where did it go? It wasn't legal advice ("We're fucked, drop it"), so what was it spent on?

Pat probably defended himself better in traffic court than Mayr could. Christ, that guy.

I've been wondering about this too. It doesn't make sense that his legal fees should be so high. Sure, they used 3 attorneys, but they're not exactly well-known super lawyers that demand huge retainers. And they only filed a few motions, drew up a few subpoenas, and obviously never got to trial. His bill should be closer to Quasi's.
There is no bill, child. Pig doesn't owe anyone a thing. It is simply a delusion of your deranged mind, staIker. I'm sorry you're so stupid.

Multiplied by 3 for Nicole's cut, Mayrs cut, then add the useless subpoenas to KiwiFarms

Quasi used two lawyers - the $550 an hour lead guy ("Rosenfeld") whose name is on the firm, El Tigre at $295 per hour, and a couple of paralegals at $205p/h. I know that because Quasi filed an itemized bill with the court, complete with explanatory notes, which Patrick still hasn't paid:

...which again raises the question of where did Pat spend all that money, and why didn't anyone Google "important Californian free speech cases" before filing?

The original complaint was very long and required months of research and preparation. He also subpoenaed 4 different people and not just one, 3 of which responded in some way and one of which hired Robert Barnes and made Bresto appear in court, also they had to negotiate a settlement behind the scenes. There's also the fact that this spanned multiple states and involved 3 lawyers. He's also a retard playing with other people's money knowing that he will never pay it back, so it's not like he gives a shit how it was spent.

Not only that, but you have to imagine Minc is working on a basis of contingency, which would mitigate upfront legal fees
Not so. Minc usually isn't in the business of collecting damages. Their model is using the court system to bully people in to taking down reviews or mean statements, and for that you gotta pay up front. It almost never makes sense to go after anonymous internet posters for actual money because it's more likely than not that they're "judgement proof," just like Pat, in that they don't have anything worth trying to collect.

Reminder that El Tigre (and Quasi) actually tried to help Pat out by saying that they didn't feel there was any need for the supplemental briefs as the merits of their arguments were strong enough to support the quash, which every single person outside of Pat and Pat's legal team (and really only Stavros) agreed with. The issue probably could have been resolved with the good judge Stein.

I believe Pat also could've saved himself some money and embarrassment by cutting losses and kicking the tires on the whole thing before it went to the good judge Schulman but instead found another $7,000 to add to his bill. El Tigre put together a strong brief with great supporting arguments, as expected. Stavros clearly copy and pasted from old shit like the hack he is.

I'm 90% sure the majority of El Tigre's preparation for the second hearing involves getting the number right. What a fucking ALPHA

Winning the case is irrelevant to Rick. He dribbles a little piss out of his hole in excitement at the thought of SFWA spending over $100k on his porky little demands. That's the real victory for him.

Do the bit.

Also, if it took months of research and preparation why didn't they Google "important cases in California free speech law" and work around Quasi's Krinsky protection?

All that "research" and got zero names.

This whole thing was doomed from the start.
