Breaking Bad is a complete ripoff of The Godfather.

The innocent guy turns bad guy, and turns everyone around him bad as well, and refuses to stop being bad, has been done a million times. It is the plot of practically every single crime movie or show. Even stuff like Donnie Brasco (which was a true story) where he starts undercover then almost becomes a mafia member and loses his grip on the operation is another form of this. Sopranos and Godfather are both about sons who inherit a mafia crime syndicate and destroy everything and everyone around them. Gomorrah is the exact same plot as well but taken to cartoon levels where the main character whacks his own father like some Game of Thrones plotline.

Goodfellas is like this complete with car explosions at the beginning where Henry is torching cars. Walt has that faggy scene where he torches a car at a gas station. Sometimes the scenes work and other times they come across as ridiculous.

Breaking Bad is like the reddit version of Sopranos or Goodfellas. The version for people who need endless chase sequences and action scenes and Nazis for bad guys. You get glimpses of great story but otherwise it, and Better Call Saul, never really rise to the level of something like Godfather or Casino or whatnot.

I was literally going to make my OP, "I won't bother explaining why, I'll just wait for lingerlonger to post his analysis" lmao.

Should’ve left it alone after the season 1 finale. Would’ve been a fine series. I was literally cheering when Mike died (even though that scene is terrible). And I’ll never watch one episode of Better Call Saul but I’m sure it’s better than the Chip Chipperson Show.

It wasn't even him who knocked, it was Jesse.
Sopranos had a ton of knocking on the door comedy scenes. Paulie and Pussy knocking the two fags' door who stole the teacher's car. Furio banging on the door "these two suck each other's cocks". Furio knocking on the Frenchman's door and the guy opening all casually. Artie knocking on Benny's door and then beating the shit out of him like a maniac "you want a Martina...it's like a martini....from Albania". The Italian assassins delivering DHL Express to Mr. Phillip and then blasting away Phil's girlfriend and her father.

Probably am missing a bunch more.

What do you find watchable about Saul that breaking bad doesn't have?

It's been awhile since I tried it out but it all just seemed so silly. The way the actors played the characters, the scenes, the plot. I wanted to watch it for the scenes with Odenkirke, since he used to really like that guy, but by that time Saul had already came out and I figured I'd just go straight to that it it's way less campy and silly to me. I still haven't watched the last season of it though. Also there's this scene where Saul/Jimmy is selling black market cell phones or something and playing that song "Street Life." PFG vignette.
