My old man got drafted and did a full army hitch in Korea, where he got wounded in action twice. He came home, got a real job, and never talked about his army stint again except to say how much it sucked. He'd have blown his brains out before he'd have been caught dead in Joe's faggy army shirt, as he was a grown man who took pride in not being a revolting buffoon. "I jumped out of planes on purpose"...it doesn't even make any sense, as who ever accidentally jumped out of an airplane?

My dad was drafted during Vietnam, told me never to even think about joining the military.

My dad was drafted in between Korea and Vietnam. So no combat and was stationed in Gelnhausen Germany the whole time. The way he summarized his military experience was:
