After more than forty years in the local LI cover band scene, Joe doesn't know a single drummer willing to fill in for his retarded gigs, and has to beg for one on gay Facebook like a queer. He "should" know half a dozen local drummers, and maybe he does, but not one of them wants to play with gasbag Joe. Think about how hard you'd have to work to be that unpopular and disliked. I mean, they're local cover bands, which means 90% of everyone involved are already dipshits, which makes Joe a dipshit among dipshits.

And yeah, why DOES Joe like Rage Against The Machine? They're openly, proudly leftist and always have been. It doesn't bother him when de la Rocha barks about the plight of Nicaraguan migrants or defends cop killers? Or does he justify it by claiming he only likes the music? Either way, it's pretty fucking gay. Joe was too old for RATM even when they were new.
