I watched it a few days ago. Chilling stuff. In some ways he really reminded me of Pat. He was a narcissistic, pathological liar with delusions of grandeur. And he also was a latent homosexual. They even look alike.

Haven’t seen the Netflix special, don’t know much about him in general but reading the wiki page a bit, Pat does seem to have some of his characteristics. None the good ones like being a model prisoner and being high performing VP of a local civic organization, but ones like knowing that delivering treatment to him would be ineffective and lying under oath.

I wonder how bad Pat’s childhood was because every single one of these serial killers seems to have been beaten savagely by their father for decades on end at minimum.

Also a Democrat. haven't seen this but watched this movie with William Forsythe playing him. I guess based on a true story about this college student who met him while he was in prison for some project. He started out interacting with Gacy in a controlled way but then the guy found out where he lived, his phone number, etc and would just randomly call him, try to get him to talk about/have gay experiences so he could get off to it. Just a creepy fuck. And gacy continued to deny he did anything wrong the whole time, when they found the bodies in the crawlspace under his house. Just tomlinson level denial of reality.

Yeah, it's worth a watch if you don't know much about him. His connections to the JayCees and Democratic Party in Cook County are especially interesting. He was very charismatic and became a leader in these organizations. But he was also a sick depraved dude who got off on torturing young men.

Gacy had a real job and owned a real company (unlike Posts by Ghosts). He was also a better citizen and contributed to society--- he was doing his best to reduce man's carbon footprint. Ahead of his time if you really think about it--

Yeah, a lot of the rest of them were total failures in the real world (Dahmer, the Wests, Henry Lee Lucas.) Even Bundy couldn't finish a degree or hold down a job. Gacy was different in that way. Sick fuck though.

That's what makes BTK interesting. He was a member of the church council, Cub Scout troop leader, respected family man, etc., but also a vainglorious egomaniac that couldn't leave well enough alone and keep his mouth shut. Dummy got caught thanks to stupidity and his lack of understanding how technology works.

BTK, Gacy, and Bundy were all very charismatic in their own individual ways. I guess you could lump Manson into that list too. Kemper wasn't as charismatic IRL, but he was super smart and comes off as a charming person in his interviews with the feds.
