And if so what did you do? I got fired from one of my sales gigs a few years ago. I was already interviewing several other jobs at the time because I hated my job and the company I worked for. It was a slow day and had no calls or emails coming through and I had sent out like 100 emails for the marketing campaign we were working on at the time so I started browsing around news articles on my computer to kill time. My team lead caught me on camera doing it in the office and I told him that I literally had nothing else to do and showed them everything I had done that day. Got a whole lecture from him and then he reported me to my manager and pretty much convinced her to fire me. Ended up getting another job the day after I got fired so it all worked out.

I let people steal, I stole beef jerky, those long Benson and Hedges cigarettes and sunglasses all the time. No regard for the cameras. I did no actual work other than take people's money. I literally didn't know how to work the lottery machine, so when people would come in to check their tickets I'd just straight up tell them no. I also didn't know how to balance the till at the end of my shift so i just wrote random numbers down. If customers were rude, I'd crumple their receipt up and throw it at their face. The manager wanted to meet with me, definitely to fire me for being a tremendously shitty employee so I just never showed up again.

Gas station slacker was the best. First day on the job I pocketed an extra $20 for myself and never looked back. Last official day was when they called me at 7am on a Sunday to cover someone. I just hung up on them and that was that.

I just started a new job 2 months ago after 8 years at one place and am realizing I'm probably not going to be able to do what's expected of me. Hoping I can make it through 4 more months, get it on a resume and move on but I'm getting vibes another firing could be imminent.

This was over 10 years ago btw - Gap was good because the broads there were hot but the manager hated me. Walmart I actually tried to be a good employee but I was partying too much and the streetshitting supervisor had warned me about my habitual lateness.
The only good thing about Walmart is that I would hang out in the meat freezer on my breaks - it would help with the hangovers.

I do have to give the maintenance staff credit it was very clean. Also there was two girls with absurdly fat asses. So instead of doing my job I’d look at them for 10 mins. Try to keep it fresh in my mind as I ran to the bathroom.

I got fired from my first job. I was 14 and got hired by some extremely tender-hearted fast food manager. I desperately needed money to help my mother and he could sense that. Asked enough questions to figure out I was a 14 year old with a deadbeat father and a mother with a low-paying job.

Problem was, I legally could do about jack shit but make cole slaw, sweep, fill ice buckets (not bins) and a few other things. By state law, I wasn't allowed to use hot water, climb up on anything (which disallowed me from refilling the top-loading ice bins) handle money, open "security" doors, etc. The manager who hired me got transferred and the new manager IMMEDIATELY fired me. Well, he immediately said I wouldn't be scheduled past two weeks from now, but yeah.

Worked in a few pubs as a student. One of them the manager was this fucking bumpkin from the sticks who'd moved to London to make it as a musician but had ended up running a pub for this big company. He had a chip on his shoulder and resented the younger guys who worked there and was a sleaze to the girls. One night, it was like a Tuesday and quiet, there was nothing to do. The few customers there had all been served, the bar was clean and fully stocked, no food orders coming etc. So I went out to the beer garden to see if anyone wanted anything (there was table service if it wasn't too busy) or there were any glasses to collect or whatever. They didn't and there wasn't. A couple of regulars were this middle-aged gay couple, David and Andrew. Nice guys, good tippers. I smoked back then and David offered me one. I hadn't had a break all shift so I took one and chatted to them for a couple of minutes. Suddenly the manager's there and tells me he "wants a word" with me in his office. We go upstairs and he gives me shit about smoking and socialising with customers when there's work to be done. I started to explain myself and he raised his hand like Caesar and announced he was giving me "a written warning." 3 of those and you're fired. Something about the ridiculousness of it pissed me off and I said he could stick the job and quit. I found another one a couple of days later. Closest I've come to being fired.
