Loving /r/brothermen recently, so I'll post one myself. I had to travel quite a bit in the late oughts. Would be on the west coast for 6-8 weeks at a time and then fly back east for 8 or 9 days. To a southern state not exactly in a rural area but certainly an unsophisticated area. So I left...

not me, but my half-brother was found face down in a pool when he was 4 years-old. his veteran dad managed to revive him on the spot, and the local news even made a story about it despite the fact that it was his fault for being a negligent parent lol. that incident is debatably why I'm even alive, cos I'm pretty sure that's what lead my mother to leave him and meet my dad. anyway, I think it's had long lasting effects on my brother, for he's a bit of a mental case now
