It’s gonna be insufferable when Maxine Waters finally dies, the media will call her all kinds of things like “trailblazer” “iconic” “legend” etc. yet can’t name one thing she’s actually done in her long political career other than getting herself and family wealthy through her political connections.

Real answer is because these people work their entire life as career politicians, make a ton of money and connections, and then get to finally be top of the pack after spending their entire life paying their dues. Just look at Biden. Guy cheated his way through a pretty shitty law school, never had a job outside of politics, and now he's top dog. The ultimate example for budding politicians - get in line, stick with the program, and maybe one day you'll be president.
