Mandalorian ended with a cartoon Luke Skywalker taking Grogu away so everyone could clap and cheer in the right places.
Grogu, however, is worth billions of dollars in merchandising, so they had to get him back in the Mandalorian somehow.
So, in Boba Fett’s tedious slog of a show they used a cartoon Luke Skywalker offering Grogu the chance to stay and fulfill his destiny or go back and live with his “dad” to inject some life into a complete waste of time. Since cartoon Luke can’t be around forever and Grogu wasn’t in any of the recent movies, he went back to Mando so the Mandalorian show will continue to be extremely profitable and now they won’t even need to waste time explaining how he ends up back there. The end.
