No, it's a measure of how many Earth orbits around the Sun you're been alive for. And it's real, and irrevocable. Just like with gender, you can't ignore it or pretend it's something else, because it isn't. It's a simple truth, and pretending it isn't leads to a slippery slope where you'll start questioning everything and paralyze yourself into a constant state of indecision and stupidity. That kind of "progressive" thinking destroys logic and replaces it with willful ignorance, which isn't good for anyone.
