The old JRPG and dungeon crawler games were PFG.
I'd recommend Undernaughts: Labrinth Of Yomi for the switch. It's newish game based on old school Japanese dungeon crawlers.

I first played that when it came out and the first few hours were some of the most immersive gameplay I’ve ever had. The struggle in the beginning was really engaging but it became extremely monotonous after awhile. I know they’ve add a whole bunch of shit since then but I can’t be bothered to get back into it

Make sure to try Relaxed Mode. It’s a new mode they just added which is supposed to make it less annoying of a grind

I put almost 200 hours in No Man's Sky playing for a good few weeks a few months ago. They changed the inventory system and completely ruined my maxed out ships and suit that I worked hard to get. Haven't played since.
I might just try that new Relaxed Mode. I did enjoy the game when I binged it.

I need to get a emulator. THe 2 years I was doing my masters I was dying to play old nintendo games. I think after xms I'll download one.
Even more so with the new Willow Tv show. The nintendo game is one of my favs, and the Zelda for the SNES ripped it off in the game play aspects.
