Anyone who isn’t a retard would have checked it in a survey before finalising, but anyone who isn’t a retard wouldn’t also need the predatory interest only mortgage they used. I believe they’ve paid down 5k of the principle in 5 years and the down payment was like 1%. It’s a mortgage for minorities and idiots.

Another part of the inspection when closing on a house should be to do a property line survey. This includes things like fence positioning to make sure your neighbors didn't encroach your property and other issues. If there were no permit for a fence that would have come up. You don't have to do it necessarily ( I don't think), it costs a couple hundred bucks, but you absolutely should.
